My mother told me that there was a story told by an Italian comedian, that when Paul Revere was riding through the streets of Boston shouting “The British are Coming!” The British are Coming!”, an Italian woman stuck her head out of the window and shouted back. “Don’t worry…We have plenty of food for Everyone!”

The story makes us laugh but also reminds us that it takes generous and dedicated people to make great change.

We all know inherently that “Freedom isn’t Free,” and there were many families during the Revolutionary War who made great sacrifices. They made personal contributions such as sharing their food, shelter and clothing to help the underfunded troops.

The lesson for me is that we at Maria’s always celebrate America and make room at the table; and we make it easy for you to do the same. So on this July 4th , we thank all of those brave men, women and children who today fight for our Freedom. And we ask you to make room at your table with a delicious Family meal.
